Edamame Soybeans 'Giant Midori'

If you can grow green beans, you can grow edamame soybeans. Yep, the plants are soybeans; edamame are the salted, lightly cooked immature beans you'll be popping into your mouth later this summer. The word literally means "twig bean" or "beans on branches." Compact plants are early and heavy croppers, so if you can't eat them all at once, you'll have plenty to freeze. Plump pods have two or three beans each. 82 days
