Acanthus mollis
Bear's Breeches
- Category: Large Annuals
- Height: 4 Feet
- Spread: 2 feet
Glossy large and deeply lobed leaves were used as the model for the Corinthian leaf motif in ancient Greek and Roman architecture. Very attractive even when not in bloom. Stunning 1-2 foot spikes of two lipped tubular white flowers with purple hoods appear late spring to mid-summer and resemble snapdragons.
