About Us
Here at Rush Creek Growers, Inc. our mission is to grow a wide variety of great plants for the wholesale trade in the upper-Midwest. We are committed to the unusual. Great customer service including pre-booking of orders for future delivery, custom growing, weekly availability updates and a collaborative relationship with our customers is a priority. We've been in business since 1995 here in the lovely Rush River valley of west central Wisconsin. We value the creation of a good workplace for ourselves and our plant-savvy crew. Rush Creek Growers Inc. was started by Suzanne Baker and Vicky Weis.
Rush Creek Growers started in the winter of 1995 on a lovely farm in rural Pierce County, WI. We built a small hoop house and with a vision to grow interesting and unusual plants using innovative and ethical practices. At first, it was just owners, Suzanne Baker and Vicky Weis, friends and family but thanks to the support of garden centers, professional gardeners and municipalities in Minnesota and Wisconsin, we have grown to 24 greenhouses and a wonderful staff of 20 humans, 2 cats, multiple dogs, many greenhouse birds, butterflies, bees, toads, the occasional snake and migrating swans and cranes overhead. Suzanne has taken over ownership of Rush Creek Growers, with Vicky having retired in 2023.
Our mission remains growing plants using sustainable practices that include beneficial insects and fungi for disease and pest control, compostable pots (when available), rainwater retention, use of solar for 75% of our electricity and more. We aim to bring you the most creative, practical, delightful options for your containers and your gardens.
