Native clumping grass that looks similar to oats, growing in the spring starting green and turning tan in the summer then purple in the fall with cooling temperatures. Leaves dance in the wind and, if planted in a sunny area, will have a golden hue early in the fall. Needs moist to wet well drained soils. A large variety of animals will use this plant for habitat or food including, butterflies, birds and mammals.
