DYE PLANT. Great plains native annual also known as Plains Coreopsis. Wispy stems topped by rich crimson and bi-color (red-gold) single blooms. Red petals are used to create dyes in mahogany and rust shades, yellow petals yield golden orange shades. The more you cut it, the more flowers you'll have to harvest.
