Tomato 'San Marzano'

The classic sauce tomato demanded by chefs worldwide. Thousands of metric tons are still processed in southern Italy every year. OK, Minnesota and Wisconsin don't have that Mediterranean climate, but you will still be putting up some fine sauce with these babies. These oblong meaty fruits are set in heavy clusters on compact plants with few seeds. Easy to peel for processing, too.
