Only 14 plants of this species of petunia were found in 2007 by botanists in Brazil. Growing in the shady limestone cliffs with no fragrance, it had developed its lovely upright red star flowers to attract hummingbirds as its sole pollinator. We grew a trial last year and employees raved, well, at least Gary did, choosing it as his "Annual of the Year." Unlike any other petunia, it stands at nearly three feet tall and could easily be mistaken for a nicotiana. Excellent bedding plant, just a few plants in the ground create a stunning constellation.
