A group of experienced plant breeders in the Pacific Northwest tweaked shiny ruffled-leaf 200 year old heirloom Green Glaze and selected the results over several years to improve its cold tolerance down to 0°. You get great flavor, sweet stems and that shiny foliage which is reported to be less palatable to cabbage loppers.
