Hibiscus sabdariffa 'Thai Red Roselle'
'This beautiful plant native to West Africa is grown for the plump red coverings around its seed pods. After the 3" flowers arrive in the fall, harvest the pod coverings (remove the seed pods). You may need to bring the plants inside to extend the season long enough for the pods to form. Use this to make tea (Red Zinger), or delicious syrup. You can also make jams and sauces, and harvest the growing tips and leaves for use in salads and other ways you use greens. Attracts bees. Hibiscus sabdariffa 'Thai Red Roselle'
