Dianthus carthusianorum

Dozens of thin stems topped by clusters of sassy pink single blooms with the classic "pinked" edge. Tough survivor native to the Alps through the mountains of Eastern Turkey. It does great in rock gardens, slopes, and dry meadows. Attracts butterflies and seems to be perennial in our region, as it survives in my boulevard planting in South Minneapolis.
