Polygonum tinctoria

Japanese Indigo

DYE PLANT This tender annual loves heat, humidity and plenty of water. When bruised leaves turn navy blue, you can start to harvest. Dried foliage will give you a deeper shade of blue than fresh, but either can be used. More foliage will resprout if you leave several nodes above ground at harvest.
